To set up your device using the Proviso app, you must have Bluetooth and location services enabled on your mobile device. For best performance, your device should support Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) version 5.0 or later.
Connecting to Your Device
1. Open the Proviso app and tap Bluetooth for your connectivity method.
See Getting Started with BLE for more information on setting up your Bluetooth.
2. Select your device.
A pairing request dialog displays.
For Android devices, if the pairing request dialog does not display, you can refresh the device list (you may have to do this a few times), or navigate to your phone's System Settings and the pair request dialog will display. If your connection fails, a 'Failed to Connect' banner displays and you will need to try and re-connect.
3. Tap Pair.
4. Tap Yes, Connect. Data loads from the device and the status changes to Connected. You can now view device information and sensor data from the device in the Diagnostics tab. This data is transferred securely over Bluetooth from the device to your mobile device.
O3 devices only: The O3 device plays a sound and the light ring flashes blue.
5. Configure a network connection: IP, Ethernet, or Secure Connect.
Note: You cannot enable Ethernet and IP at the same time, but you can enable Secure Connect as a second port. The device will not route between interfaces, e.g. you cannot route SC to Ethernet, SC to IP, etc. and cannot function as a BBMD. As such, it does not require a BACnet network number to be set for any of its ports (Ethernet, UDP/IP, or Secure Connect). See FAQ for a detailed explanation.
-
- To connect BACnet UDP/IP, next to BACnet UDP/IP, select . Select enable Network, then enter the default UDP port number to activate the IP protocol. Select Save.
- To connect BACnet Ethernet, next to BACnet ethernet, select . Select enable Network to activate the Ethernet protocol. Select Save.
- To connect BACnet Secure Connect, next to BACnet SC, select . Select enable Network, then enter the Auto config URL from your enteliWEB site. Select Save.
CAUTION: Proviso will stop sending requests if your mobile screen turns off due to inactivity. Ensure your mobile screen remains on while writing to objects.
Configuring the Network
- After connecting to the device, go to Settings > Network. If you want to assign a static IP address, select , select Static, enter the IP settings, then select Save. Otherwise, leave it as DHCP. The IP address must be unique for each device.
If you are using both Ethernet ports, note the following: you must unplug both cables or reboot your device to get a new IP address from a DHCP server.
- Next to BACnet, tap , select the protocol you want to use (BACnet/Ethernet or BACnet/IP), enter the BACnet settings, then tap Save. The BACnet Device ID must be unique for each device.
- Next to Security, tap , enter a 6-digit PIN to secure BLE read/write access to the hub, then tap Save.
Note: If you have migrated from the the O3 Setup App, you must use this same pin to access the hub in Proviso. - Tap Apply settings to device. After the settings are applied, the status shows Configured and a green check mark appears next to each applied setting.
This section applies to the O3 device only.
Calibrating the Sensors
- After connecting to the device, go to Settings > Calibration and tap .
- Measure the temperature below the O3 at occupant height, enter the temperature in the Actual temperature field, then tap Save.
- If you plan to use the device for lighting control, adjust the lighting in the space to the desired brightness, record the current reading in the Hub reading at desired light level field, then tap Save. This setpoint will be used by the control system as a baseline for control loops.
- Tap Apply settings to device.
