In firmware version 4.16, the embedded webserver is available for the configuring the O3 as an alternative to using Proviso or enteliWEB.
The O3 embedded webserver must be enabled through through the O3's NP8 object. The default /cleared database setting is enabled.
To connect to the embedded webserver, you will need the IP address of the O3, obtained through Proviso, enteliWEB or another means.
To connect to an O3 embedded webserver over a network, your device (laptop/phone) network must be on the same O3 network, or able to reach the O3 network.
If the O3 is not already on a network, a direct Ethernet connection to a Windows PC will generate an APIPA 196.xxx.xxx.xxx IP address for the O3 that can be used to access the embedded webserver.
Direct Connection
- Make a note of the serial number located on the back of your controller. Alternatively, you can find the serial number in the DEV object property 'Serial_Number'
- Connect your PC or laptop directly to one of the O3's Ethernet ports.
- Use one of the two methods:
- IP Address: Copy the the O3 IPv4 Address and paste it into your browser’s address bar. If you do this, remember to type “https://” before the IP address (for example: https://192.168.2.28). The O3 IPV4 Address can be found in the NP8 object under IPv4 Settings or through Proviso Diagnostic information.
-
Hostname Link: In the NP8 object, click the Hostname link, and proceed to the login page.
- The Hostname is a combination of the model name and the last 3 octets of the O3's Ethernet MAC address plus .local (for example https://O3-Edge-02-1E-FD-80.local).
- The Hostname address redirects to the O3's IP address and relies on mDNS to be enabled on the computer (https://support.apple.com/en-us/106380) and the computer accessing must be on the same IP subnet as the O3.
- The embedded web server is protected using a self-signed TLS certificate. The first time you try to access the embedded website, your browser will warn you that the certificate is not trusted.
- Click Advanced and proceed to the site.
- On the login page, under Username, enter Admin, and under Password, enter the controller’s serial number without the slash (for example, 1234561234).
- Click Login.
