Measure the temperature with a calibrated thermometer or other temperature sensing device in the area of influence under the O3. You don’t have to be directly below the O3, but the closer you are to it the better your calibration will be.
Using the Proviso app, connect to the device and in the Settings tab select Calibration and enter the temperature recorded from your meter into the applicable text field. Important: Make sure you have the correct units set before you calibrate your temperature.
For the calibration to have the best effect, we recommend the following:
- Calibrate as close to your control setpoint as reasonably possible. The calibration should be within plus or minus five degrees Celsius of your planned setpoint, but the closer you are to the control point the better it will be.
- Ensure the temperature in the space has been reasonably stable for at least 15 minutes prior to calibrating. That is, don’t go from 10 degrees to 20 degrees Celsius and then calibrate the reading as soon as you reach 20 degrees. Hold the temperature at approximately 20 degrees for 15 minutes and then calibrate.
- Calibrate within the IR area of influence under the O3. The area of influence is the circular area under the device with the diameter equal to the mounting height of the hub.
- Make sure the O3 is not directly next to a heating or cooling source.
- Calibrate at approximately 1 m (3 ft) off the floor.
